I am an experienced cook and baker, having been taught by one of the best cooks and bakers ever - my grandmother. She is the one who inspired me and passed down all of her knowledge of cooking and baking (and so much more) to me. I am forever grateful to her for her gifts!
When I was 5 years old, my grandmother came to live with my family and she instantly starting teaching me all she knew about cooking and baking. She never used anything but fresh ingredients and always taught me the "from scratch" method. Adding water to a box never suited her and it rarely ever suits me. Over the years, I have found that cooking and baking from scratch has so many benefits...healthier, cost effective, and always tastes better. It might not be convenient all the time, but if you truly love to cook, then you don't mind the time and effort.
